Tis is the House that Jacobus Schoenmakers built. With house turned over to Leo and Susanne Schoenmakers it became there muchly needed home. Over the years Leo conformed it to their needs. As a child I can still remember the closet doors that pulled closed seperating the living room from the dining room. Myself, I can still remember the smells that the house held tight. The aroma of Grandfather Jacobs cherry tobacco from his pipe and the strong oder of his cigars. And when he started up the stove in the kitchen I enjoyed watching him load up the wood and put stove oil on it and light it up.
This is an ongoing work...... It is presently in the stages of being upgraded...

After a visit with Leo and Susie today with my son David, which by the way was a wonderfull visit. I found that susie has a few old photos of the original building and others. I showed her a little bit about scanning photos to send my way and I would be happy to post them on the site. Carmen Schoenmakers had sent me a couple photos as well, of Ike and Catherines wedding which I posted.
Clasina Schoenmakers sitting relaxing on a log in a park somewheres. Anyone remember?
